01. Hit the ski fields, NSW & Victoria
If you consider a skiing break in Australia, you won't have any anxiety. You can choose between Snowy Mountains and Victorian Alpine Mountains. Each year, it is contested whether Victoria has more snow than New South Wales. No need to worry, take a walk on snowy slopes and enjoy it. I enjoy the Victorian highlands during summer.

Byron Beach is an area of coastal towns that remains one of the most sought after destinations in Australia for visitors to beautiful beaches or to enjoy the music and entertainment of the famous. Regardless the budget, it is very popular among travelers, couples or families – anyone’s good game!
03. Winter holidays in Queensland: Magnetic Island or Port Douglas
Winter is the perfect time for visiting this great and beautiful region especially because its weather the whole year is usually quite tropical. This year promises cooler weather, less moisture, and less bugs! Magnetic Isle is offshore from townsville and is reached via ferries and passengers.
There are many stunning beaches and a variety of interesting treks in the region and many of the animals in the region... notably KOALAS. The port is north of Cairns which is known as the destination of the backpacker. It is small, beautiful, and is the entry point into the Daintree Rain Forest, where Cassowary is quite fossil-themed.
04. Blue Mountains, NSW
The Blue Mountains remind me of the Grand Canyon, both covered with dense forests while others have their rocks facing and ravines. The two places will give their secrets out for free to anyone. The soul of a human is a journey. Blue Mountains have depths greater than Sandstone escarpments and the famed Three Sister Mountains.
We drew our photos of I was there and subsequently took the 900 foot walk to the valley below in a forest of pines. We visited the Emerald Wonderland which belong to our families and the ancient woods. Towering sassafra and a coachwood tree block the sun and the fern trees stretch across the forest floor.
05. Winter holidays in Victoria: Ballarat or the Alpine region
Winter holidays for the Australian population usually occur on the north side of the country. Unlike most states, Victoria can be winterized. There are coastal experiences that you can experience and many places are good for snowing. Ballarat is a stunning regional city just one hour from Melbourne.
Old Goldrush city has many lovely buildings to visit, along with the nearby Pyrenean region of Daylesford and the Pyrenees. Ballarat offers many wonderful activities during the winter months. The city holds an annual Winterfest that features arts events, performances, food and culture.
06. Blue Mountains in New South Wales
The blue mountains, known for their spectacular landscapes, are west of Sydney in Australia's North Wales. Thick forests, rocky slopes with spectacular waterfalls and green valleys is what Blue Mountain means.
Blue mountains have a blue-misty mist that will certainly impress your guests with their eucalyptus-seed-filled landscape. More than 100 genes in Eucalyptus are present and the Blue Mountains are regarded as a global heritage.
07. The Great Barrier Reef
Winter is the dry season in the tropical climates of northern Queensland and the Grand Barrier Reef, with pleasant temperatures and low humidity. At this time of year water temperatures average around 23oC, perfect for diving among the incredible marine life on the reefs.
The great thing about visiting the Great Barrier Reef during the summer months is that you will not only be seeing whales migrate to this warm water every year to reproduce. You will be able observe humpback whales and mink whales both at sea or close to shore.
08. Winter holidays in South Australia: Barossa Valley or Kangaroo Island
It has a magnificent capital of Adelaide which is often known as the "Raladide of Adelaide". Barossa Valley offers an excellent location for wine lovers. The place is situated only 1 hour from Adelaide and is a great day trip for those interested in experiencing a bit more about the region. Stop by a vineyard or bike around to find something tasty.
09. Kakadu National Park
The Northern Territory provides an ideal escape from the harsh winters of southern Australia. Is the Crown Jewel part of the NT? Yeah Kadakadu National Park certainly is. The 198116km2 park boasts a tropical climate which explains how the "winter" is the real dry season.
The dry seasons are the ideal time for a visit to Kakadu Nationalpark, due to the abundance and variety of attractions. During wet seasons many roads are floodlit and a few rivers and swimming pools close due to flood and possible crocodiles. Wet months last from May to October.
10. Winter holidays in Tasmania: Cradle Mountain or Hobart
Tasmania is south of Tasmania, so cold in the Wintertime. But that's not going to diminish it. Moreover, winter is the perfect period of vacation for many tourists who don't like traveling. There will be plenty of places on your island where it's possible to relax.
Take the Spirit of Tasmania and walk through town and stop wherever it pleases. Cradle Mountain is a pretty scenic place to visit for those that love wombats! Walk or curl up with blankets at the fire pit with your beverage in hand.
11. Bunya Mountains, Queensland

12. Visit South Australia's wine regions
A night in South Australian wineries during the winter can be an ideal getaway from home to enjoy some delicious Australian food. Adelaide Hills lies just over 20 miles from the Adelaide city centre which produces some of South Australia's finest Pinot noir at wineries like Mt Lofty Range and Karrawatta.
The Barossa region is situated in rolling green hills about an hour northwest Adelaide and boasts beautiful cellars such as the Hentley farms and Henschke cellars. Other wine regions include Clare Valley and Mclaren valley in South Australian wine region Maxwell wine which produces delicious meads.
13. Winter Holidays in the Northern Territory: Darwin or Yulara
This area offers exceptional natural beauty and is home to some of Australias twoilliest cities and landmarks. Darwin has seasons called "wet" and " drying ". In the summer storms roll in and humidity and temperature increase, making the place very unsupportable (plus you cannot swim in water because box jellyflies are found).
Darwin has a nice winter. Its temperatures can stay cool because there are very close connections between it and South East Asia, which makes it an attractive destination for backpackers.
14. Winter holidays in Western Australia: Perth or Broome
We have some great places for visitors from abroad as well as locals to explore our biggest & most isolated region. Perth is the capital of the state and another city that doesnt have much attention it deserves.
If you go, you'll get great beaches and walk through the streets of Newbridge or Fremantles. And perhaps even take the ferry to Rotten Island for some of the funniest marsupies on Earth. 15. Port Douglas, Queensland
Port Douglas is an excellent winter and tropical destination. Its calm vibe beckons you to relax a little, go shopping a little and go shopping. Port Douglas serves as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Mossman Gorge and Daintree Rainforest.
No Amazons are in Daintre. One walk through Mosman Gorge leads you down Mossman River with a swimming hole — the river has been deemed the third purest water in the world.
16. Ningaloo Reef
A very good reef to visit in winter can be found at the Ningaloo Reef in Exmouth, northern WA. As with other areas of North Queensland, Exmouth enjoys sunny days and pleasant hot waters. Humpback whales visit the coast due to the pleasant deep water and their migration begins early May.
Other whale varieties include Southern Right Whales, Pigmy Blue Whales, Killeen Whales and orcas. You can find whale sharks and manta rays amongst other wildlife species. Exmouth provides in-water and in-boat excursions which give you access to these incredible animals.
17. Shark Bay
Shark Bay World Heritage Area lies 800 km north of Perth in Western Australia. The abundant fauna with its unique nature gives this place enchanting beauty. Imagine you start the day by walking to the shore to meet a wild dolphin.
The animals' rangers feed them each morning small quantities of fish that helps keep them going all the years around, but does not interfere with their natural habitats. There's another great drawcard: picturesque burning orange sand contrast with the turquoise waters.
18. Winter holidays in the Australian Capital Territory: Canberra
Canberra is the nation capital of Australia and is incredibly underrated and an important tourism attraction. CBRA experiences most of its seasons during all four seasons. It's cold in winter so bring some woolies. It's always interesting in London and the sights and activities are varied – from museums to museums.
19. Hervey Bay and Fraser Island, Queensland
It's an excellent site on the East Coast Australia where whales enjoy visiting in winter. Humpbacks swim in Hervey Bay to relax and calmly bathe their babies before returning south. There's a boat ride from Hervey Bay, but don't expect a lot of whales off a 75 mile beach in Fraser Island.
With over 100 fresh water lake systems, ancient forests and long white beaches Fraser has pleasant winter days in the upper 20's and lower 30's. It is still freezing so bring a beanie and scarf.
20. Skiing in Victoria & New South Wales
Australia is famous worldwide for great beaches and surfing opportunities, but also there are some excellent ski resorts. The Snow Mountains in New South Wales are Australia's largest mountain area and there are ski resorts including the Charlotte Pass (Australia's earliest ski destination) and Thredbo (the largest in New South Wales).

The Islands are known for their beautiful beaches and the sand that can be expelled. Only if you've visited the islands you have to go to the shore. The only alternative is to go liveaboard. Many boats depart from Airlie beach and there is a wide choice of tours and charters on the islands for any length of time.
